Sadly, I think people these days tend to die of TB rather than consumption. These modern times…

Also, yes, my meatball recipe calls for a ghastly amount of oil too, and the meatballs still stick to the pan. Now that I’m all diet-y, I make turkey meatballs and coat the pan with cooking spray, and it was both as tasty and as annoying as making regular meatballs! Hurrah! (I really need to buy a large nonstick skillet).

I’m pretty sure I had a conversation recently in which I learned that consumption is actually TB. In which case, yes, people most definitely still die of TB. Just not generally wealthy women in London or Italy.

Good to know I get it honestly. I also prefer them stale. I will in fact open a box and then hide it so that nobody who likes them fresh can get to them before they reach the appropriate state of staleness.

Ah yes. I never knew they had a name. Even in the dark ages in my childhood we had the chicks–vivid, glow-in-the-dark yellow.

I always favored them stale.

Peeps are sugar coated marshmallow creatures. Originally they only came in chick and rabbit shapes, but now you get cats and snowmen and many many other things, and they come in chocolate versions now too.

The real question is do you eat them fresh out of the box, or do you wait patiently for a week for them to get stale before you eat them?

Pardon for those of us who have not lived in America for years, but what are peeps? And why is it wrong for them to come in flavors?
