MND: Orange October and November
November 16, 2010Pardon that brief interruption in posting. I don’t know if you heard, but the San Francisco Giants won the World Series for the first time in 56 years. And, just for future reference, you can prep for a dinner, attend crazy street celebrations and still finish eating at a semi-reasonable hour.
Here’s a breakdown of the last month of MNDs:
Oct. 25: Black Bean, Corn and Espresso Chili, along with cornbread two ways (with jalepenos and without).
Nov. 1: The Giants (and Brian Wilson’s Beard) win the World Series! We took to the streets! and then we ate the (appropriately colored) Pumpkin and Mushroom Pasta I used two kinds of mushrooms, chopped and sauteed.
Week off for various people’s travels around the country.
Nov. 15: A CSA box inspired dinner of chicken poached in stock, white wine and thyme; two kinds of greens, mixed together and sauteed with red pepper flakes and lemon juice; roasted sweet potato “fries” two ways (sweet/spicy and savory herbs), buttermilk biscuits, but with 4 tbps of butter and an extra tsp of baking powder; and (finally) applesauce with apples from our local market.
